alpha300 Ri – Inverted Raman Imaging Microscope

Raman confocal imaging is an analytical device equipped with modern technology and comprehensive analytical capabilities without affecting the sample. It uses the Raman effect, which is based on the inelastic scattering of light excited by molecules. A molecule's ability to interact with photons causes vibrations that disturb these chemical bonds, leading to specific energy shifts in the scattered light that can be seen in the sample's spectrum . Any chemical compound can produce a specific Raman spectrum when impacted or stimulated and can be easily identified by fingerprinting. The distribution of the components of a sample can be visualized as a general image of the Raman spectrum. Many versions and upgrades developed for the WITec alpha300 series are compatible with the Ri version. Other techniques related to inverted microscopy, such as fluorescence microscopy, are simultaneously integrated for easy image acquisition.

  • An inverted beam allows liquid samples to be placed on a fixed plane containing the sample suitable for quick and accurate measurements.
  • The sample platform on the Alpha300 Ri product line allows the study of even large, bulky and difficult-to-manipulate specimens.
  • The motor moves the sample, the sample platform allows for placing a number of accessories and support equipment during the research process.
