MALDI-TOF / TOF MALDI-TOF
Matrix Supported Laser Desorption Ionization (MALDI) technique works well with thermolabile, unstable organic compounds especially high molecular weight ones and is used in used for the analysis of proteins, peptides, oligosaccharides, oligonucleotides and also industrial polymers. It has several significant advantages over other soft ionization techniques, namely:
• The formation of mostly single ions makes mass spectrometry easy to interpret.
• It is relatively simple to use and its high tolerance to impurities such as buffers and additives allows for a high throughput due to minimal sample preparation.
• It is suitable for very high volume work since matrices are used to support ionization that absorb most of the laser energy.
• It is a very sensitive technique that allows analysis down to the ATTO-Femto mole range.
The LaserToF class of the MALDI system from SAI offers a powerful range of capabilities ideal for the analysis of large fragile organic molecules such as biomolecules and polymers. The instrument is fully automated providing versatile and cost effective analysis from single-operational high TOF analyzers through state of the art linear/reflectron matching offering advanced features such as CID, PSD, seamless scan MS-MS and MALDI images.
Sensitivity has been enhanced on the TT by our novel optical zoom laser design. Click on the product you are interested in (on the right) to see more details
